About kimo

kimo is a local stdio MCP server for AI video editing. Every editing feature is a registered command and the MCP tool list is generated from that same registry: timeline cuts and trims, transitions, keyframes, colour grading, motion tracking, keying, relighting, captions and text, audio mixing and export. One ~10 MB statically linked, CPU-only Rust binary (kimo-mcp) that runs on a 2 GB machine; needs ffmpeg/ffprobe on PATH. Free and open source (MIT). Works with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode and any MCP client.

How to connect kimo to Claude, Cursor or VS Code

kimo is self-hosted. Install it from the source repository, then register its start command in your MCP client's config (Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf or VS Code).
