ContextStream MCP Server
Shared project context and hybrid code search for AI coding agents, so decisions carry across Cursor, Claude Code, Codex and more.
ContextStream is a Developer Tools MCP (Model Context Protocol) server: Shared project context and hybrid code search for AI coding agents, so decisions carry across Cursor, Claude Code, Codex and more. It is MIT-licensed and available as a hosted endpoint, so it works with no local install. Listed on MCP Collection since October 2026.
About ContextStream
ContextStream gives AI coding agents shared project context over one hosted MCP endpoint. Tools cover hybrid semantic plus keyword code search over indexed project files, saved decisions, lessons, plans and runbooks scoped to workspaces and projects, and session handoffs so the next agent session (in any supported client) starts with the same context. Works with Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Windsurf, Cline and any MCP client. Auth: OAuth 2.1 on the hosted Streamable HTTP endpoint, or an API key with the npm package (npx -y @contextstream/mcp-server). Listed in the official MCP Registry as io.contextstream/mcp. Free Starter tier, no card required; paid plans for heavier use. Published benchmarks with methods: https://contextstream.io/benchmarks
How to connect ContextStream to Claude, Cursor or VS Code
ContextStream runs as a hosted remote MCP server at https://mcp.contextstream.io/mcp. Add that URL to your MCP client's config (Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf or VS Code) and the tools appear immediately, no install required.
