About Context Nest

Context Nest gives MCP clients (Claude, Cursor, Copilot, Gemini, Windsurf) a structured, versioned knowledge vault: typed Markdown nodes with relationships, selector queries with graph traversal, full-text search and context packs. Published changes are versioned and hash-chained, and a review gate (on by default) holds agent writes until a person approves them. 44 tools over stdio. Install: npm install -g @promptowl/contextnest-cli, run ctx init --starter developer, then run npx -y @promptowl/contextnest-mcp-server with CONTEXTNEST_VAULT_PATH set to the vault. Open source (AGPL-3.0), by PromptOwl.

How to connect Context Nest to Claude, Cursor or VS Code

Context Nest is self-hosted. Install it from the source repository, then register its start command in your MCP client's config (Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf or VS Code).
